AI Policy

For better or worse, our intelligence (or lack thereof) is completely organic. This policy explains how we use (and do not use) AI in our work, and how it protects both our clients and our creative community.

1. Our Commitment

At Studio Groupie, all final files, whether photography, video, design, web, or communications, are created by human hands and minds. We do not use generative AI (GenAI) tools to produce text, images, or designs that form part of your final deliverables.

We believe your project deserves authentic creative work, shaped by experience, skill, and collaboration.

2. Restrictions on Use of Our Work

To protect both you and us:

  • Materials created by Studio Groupie may not be used with AI systems for training, replication, or style transfer.
  • Clients may not upload our work to AI platforms to generate similar designs, images, or text.
  • Our work is licensed for human use only, under the terms agreed in your project.

This ensures your project remains unique and our creative integrity is respected.

3. A Note on Design Tools

Many professional creative programs now include AI‑powered features, such as healing brushes in Photoshop or automated clean‑up tools. These are built into the software itself and are sometimes unavoidable. While we may use these tools as part of normal editing, they do not generate new content, they simply help us refine and polish the work we are already making for you.

4. Reference Images

We kindly ask that clients do not use AI to produce reference images for projects. AI‑generated references can be misleading or inconsistent, and they often copy styles without credit. This protects us from being asked to replicate AI‑derived work that may infringe on someone else’s style or copyright.

If you want to share ideas, sketches, or even rough doodles, we are more than happy to work with them. Deciphering our clients’ “terrible drawings” is one of the best parts of our job, so please keep them coming.

5. Why This Policy Matters

GenAI has brought a productivity-first approach that doesn’t consider the delicate ecosystem of creative industries. The big concerns this policy exists to address is:

  • Originality: GenAI systems remix existing work without credit. Protecting our files ensures your project remains one of a kind.
  • Fairness to Creatives: Freelancers and artists invest years in developing their style. Allowing AI to copy or train on that work undermines the value of our, and your creativity.
  • Client Protection: If your project is fed into AI systems, you lose control over how it is reused or reshaped. This policy safeguards your rights and reputation.
  • Valuing Values: We want our work to be sustainable where possible, and to be genuinely inclusive, accessible, and respectful. With AI systems, prioritising these values is an uphill battle.

6. Portfolio and Reputation

If our work is used with AI tools against this policy, Studio Groupie reserves the right to withdraw portfolio credit or association. This prevents our name being attached to derivative AI outputs that do not accurately reflect our work.

7. Our Promise to You

By working with us, we can promise that:

  • Your final files are crafted by people, not machines.
  • Your project will not be diluted by AI generated shortcuts.
  • Your investment supports genuine creative work and helps sustain a fair, ethical industry.

8. Acceptance of Policy

By engaging Studio Groupie, you agree to respect this AI Policy alongside our Terms and Conditions. Together, these policies ensure our collaboration is built on trust, originality, and care.
